Inside Out
A poem by jasmine
In this poem, Jasmine reflects on the quiet weight of being someone else’s happiness. The piece explores love, emotional dependency, and the difficult moment of realising that another person’s healing cannot live inside you.
inside out
By Jasmine
neither of us were happy,
but I was your happiness,
so it was hard because,
I wanted to run away from you,
and you wanted to search for your happiness, inside of me.
- must you always be inside of me?

Same-Sex Domestic and Sexual Violence
Same-Sex Domestic and Sexual Violence is so rarely spoken about, yet it consumed my life for so long. With no real support systems or organisations clearly dedicated to the cause, I felt so lost, so confused and so small.
All I wanted for so long was for someone to say “I can relate” or “I have been through what you have.”
It was then when I realized if I never spoke up, how could I expect others to do the same?
It’s about time we made a community.
It’s about time we spoke up about what needs to be better.
It’s about time the Government, the CPS and other organisations DO BETTER, to make sure that resources and support services are for everybody.
Nobody deserves to feel invisible.
