Rape and Sexual Abuse Helpline

24/7 Support Line run by Rape Crisis
England and wales

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line, run by Rape Crisis England & Wales, is a lifeline for anyone aged 16+ who has been affected by sexual violence at any point in their life. Whether something happened recently or many years ago, whether you are certain about what happened or still questioning it, this service is here to listen and believe you.

You can contact the Support Line by phone or online chat, both of which are free, confidential, and available 24/7. The specially trained team will never judge you or tell you what to do. Instead, they will listen, support you through difficult feelings, and provide information about options and resources - whether that’s understanding what happened, exploring next steps, or finding longer-term help like counselling. Importantly, you don’t need to share details you’re not comfortable with, and you can remain completely anonymous.

The service is open to people of all genders, regardless of immigration status, and is available in a wide range of languages. Calls can also be supported with professional interpreters.

Above all, the Support Line reminds us of a truth that too often gets lost: 100% of the blame for rape, sexual assault, and abuse lies with those who commit these acts - never with the person it happens to.

No matter how isolated you may feel, you are not alone. Someone is always available to pick up the phone or respond to your message.
