Survivor Voices Wanted

The Domestic Abuse Commissioner is inviting people with lived experience of domestic abuse to take part in two survivor-led roundtables in Spring 2026

These sessions are designed to give survivors a direct line to decision-makers - to share insight, challenge assumptions, and shape how systems respond.

The focus areas

Participants will be invited to contribute to one of the following discussions:

  • Health
How can health services better support people experiencing domestic abuse?

  • Services
What support is actually needed to remove barriers to recovery - and what do commissioners need to understand?

What participation involves

  • One 90-minute, in-person roundtable in central London

  • Small group (8–10 participants)

  • Light online preparation beforehand

  • Debrief space afterwards

  • Food provided

  • Travel covered (rail) + overnight accommodation if needed

  • Reasonable adjustments available

  • A £100 thank-you voucher

Applicants can express interest in both themes, but successful participants will attend only one roundtable.

Key dates

  • Apply by: 5pm, Tuesday 10 February 2026

  • Outcome confirmed by: Tuesday 24 February 2026

Due to demand, not all applicants will be selected - but further engagement opportunities will follow.

Why this matters

When survivors speak directly into policy and commissioning conversations, the gap between what exists and what’s needed becomes impossible to ignore.

If you’ve ever felt unheard by systems meant to protect you - this is one way to change that.

MYH encourages survivor participation that is informed, supported, and on your terms.
