Made a Police Complaint?

Open Justice for All and a journalist want to hear from VAWG victims and survivors about what happened next

Our friends at Open Justice for All are working with a journalist and want to hear from victims and survivors of violence against women and girls who have made a complaint about the police.

Did you complain about the way the police handled your case, only to receive a response that did not feel quite right?

Perhaps your complaint was upheld, but you did not feel properly acknowledged or compensated. Maybe changes or learning were promised, but you were left unsure whether anything meaningfully improved.

Was the complaints process excessively long, difficult or emotionally draining? Did it ultimately feel worthwhile?

Open Justice for All and the journalist they are working with want to understand what the police complaints process is really like for victims and survivors - including whether it delivers meaningful accountability, learning or change.

A complaints process should deliver more than an outcome - it should bring accountability, learning and meaningful change.
