Progress in Motion
the right to be reviewed continues… for now
The Solicitor General has confirmed that the CPS Victims’ Right to Review (VRR) pilot in the West Midlands will continue while its impact is evaluated, with victims and survivors directly contributing to how it evolves.
This means the pilot remains live - a crucial win for accountability and continuity. It ensures that victims can still request a review before a case is formally dropped in the West Midlands pilot area, keeping doors open that would otherwise close too soon.
It’s an encouraging sign that conversations are shifting - and that those with lived experience are being recognised as part of the solution, not just the story.
The evaluation phase will be the real test: turning what’s working into long-term, national reform. Survivor input will be central to shaping that future and ensuring this right doesn’t disappear once the pilot ends.
Thank you to every survivor, advocate, journalist, and ally who’s helped keep this issue alive. Progress like this doesn’t happen in silence -it’s built on persistence, collaboration, and collective courage.
