Help Shape the Future of Policing
The Police Leadership Commission wants to hear what matters to you about leadership, trust, and accountability
The Police Leadership Commission is inviting people across the country to share what matters to them about police leadership - and help shape the future of policing.
Set up by the College of Policing, with the support of the Home Office, the Commission is carrying out a wide-ranging review of police leadership to assess whether it is equipped to meet today’s challenges and public expectations.
Chaired by Lord Blunkett and Lord Herbert of South Downs, the Commission brings together expertise from policing, the military, the private sector and academia. Its aim is to identify best practice - and learning from beyond policing - to inform a stronger, more trusted model of leadership.
Call for evidence
The Commission is seeking views from a wide and diverse range of voices. You may:
work (or have worked) in policing
collaborate with the police as a partner organisation
be a member of the public who cares about policing in your community
All perspectives are welcome. The goal is to develop a blueprint for police leadership that genuinely serves everyone - and helps rebuild public trust.
Why this matters
Police leadership shapes culture, decision-making, accountability, and public confidence. This review represents a rare opportunity to influence how future leaders are trained, supported, and held to account - at a time when trust in policing is under intense scrutiny.
